Six of Disks Thoth Tarot Card Description and Symbolism
The Six of Disks of Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris’s Thoth Tarot is called Success. Harris shows six planet-marked disks around a luminous solar rose-cross and hexagram structure. The Disks suit represents elemental Earth: material work, resources, tangible results and everyday obligations. This is a designed esoteric image, not a reproduction of the pip cards in Tarot de Marseille or the narrative scenes of Rider–Waite–Smith.
The primary correspondence is Moon in Taurus; Tiphareth of Earth. Crowley’s title is a symbolic interpretation within his Hermetic system; it should never be taken as a guaranteed financial prediction or judgment of someone’s value.
The Disks and the Illustrated Structure
The six disks form a hexagram arrangement around the glowing center, producing a picture of forces that temporarily cooperate. Crowley places the Sun at the center while the Moon in Taurus supplies the astrological ruler of the card’s decan.
Planetary Decan and Elemental Context
Taurus is traditionally the Moon’s exaltation. In Crowley’s account the resulting balance is attractive but not permanent: material success needs maintenance and can change once the larger cycle advances. The rose-cross is a symbolic center, not a guarantee of wealth.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot Upright Meaning
Upright, the card can describe an achieved, measurable improvement that comes from proportionate coordination of resources. A concrete question about work, money or physical conditions is especially relevant: what resources exist, what has actually occurred and which choice can be evaluated? The name Success sets the interpretive theme without removing the need for evidence.
The constructive response is to decide which facts can be established and what modest, verifiable action would improve the situation. A tarot reading may provide language for reflection; it does not replace a contract, a budget, professional assessment or direct conversation.
Upright in Love and Relationships
Shared routines and dependable contributions may be working well. Appreciation matters, but neither person should take the other’s effort for granted. The card cannot prove another person’s private feelings or intentions. Use an actual conversation to understand their needs and whether any shared plan is freely chosen.
Upright in Career and Work
A team may have achieved a useful milestone through cooperation. Record which procedures produced the result before scaling operations. Good interpretation identifies a decision, an accountable owner and a date when progress can be reviewed, rather than merely repeating the keyword printed on the card.
Upright in Money and Finances
Review actual profit and reserves, not just sales volume. The card can support prudent management after success, never a guaranteed windfall. Material outcomes depend on verified figures and circumstances; none can be guaranteed by the drawing of a disk.
Upright in Spirituality
The solar rose-cross and planetary disks belong to the specific Hermetic symbolism of Tiphareth. Distinguish this from universal claims about planetary forces. Keep the distinction between Crowley’s specific symbolism, earlier tarot history and any personal meaning attached to the image.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot Reversed Meaning
Reversed or ill-dignified, Six of Disks may indicate complacency after a short-term success, overpromising results or treating a favorable stage as a permanent entitlement. The Thoth system is often interpreted through elemental dignity or position instead of mandatory reversal. In either case, the difficult side is not a prediction of disaster and should not be used to stigmatize an individual.
Ask whether the relevant assumption has been checked: an achieved, measurable improvement that comes from proportionate coordination of resources. The image is useful when it encourages an honest examination of constraints and alternatives rather than making the querent fear that an outcome is inevitable.
Reversed in Love and Relationships
Pressure around the situation may become harder to discuss. Shared routines and dependable contributions may be working well. Appreciation matters, but neither person should take the other’s effort for granted. If the same tension repeats, agree on what needs to change and respect each person’s boundaries rather than reading a card as proof of betrayal.
Reversed in Career and Work
complacency after a short-term success, overpromising results or treating a favorable stage as a permanent entitlement. Review the workflow and identify evidence of what is and is not working. An adjusted scope, additional training or a small pilot may be more productive than repeating an unchanged plan.
Reversed in Money and Finances
The risk is making decisions from fear or overconfidence. Review actual profit and reserves, not just sales volume. The card can support prudent management after success, never a guaranteed windfall. Check obligations, liquid resources and alternative choices before committing more funds; the card does not supply reliable numerical forecasts.
Reversed in Spirituality
The symbolic language of Success can become a simplistic label. The solar rose-cross and planetary disks belong to the specific Hermetic symbolism of Tiphareth. Distinguish this from universal claims about planetary forces. Compare original correspondences and avoid turning a difficult image into a moral verdict.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot Tarot Interpretations in Readings
The meaning varies with the question, its position and nearby cards. Interpret Success as a theme for discussion, not as a means of discovering hidden facts about another person or predicting a market event.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot Yes or No
The answer is conditional. It can support a carefully planned next step if the facts support it, and suggest not yet if the key costs or responsibilities remain unclear. In this suit the appropriate test is material feasibility, not a magical promise of success.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot as Feelings
In a relationship question, the card can evoke concerns about effort, reliability and security. Its central theme is an achieved, measurable improvement that comes from proportionate coordination of resources. It cannot reliably reveal another person’s private thoughts, so observed behavior and conversation should take precedence.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot as a Person
The card may symbolically depict a person dealing with an achieved, measurable improvement that comes from proportionate coordination of resources. Under stress they might display complacency after a short-term success, overpromising results or treating a favorable stage as a permanent entitlement. Such descriptions concern circumstances and decisions rather than fixed personality traits.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot as Advice
A team may have achieved a useful milestone through cooperation. Record which procedures produced the result before scaling operations. Where finances are important, record all assumptions and act only within manageable limits. Choosing a realistic experiment can be more useful than claiming certainty about the outcome.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot as an Outcome
An outcome may concern a change in the practical conditions linked with success. No single draw proves what will happen. A useful reading identifies how to recognize progress or decide that a different approach is needed.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot in Past, Present and Future Positions
Past
A previous stage of success may explain some of the current constraints. Identify which decisions remain relevant and which no longer fit.
Present
The immediate question involves an achieved, measurable improvement that comes from proportionate coordination of resources. Check actual resources and choose a limited, accountable next step.
Future
This material theme may remain important as circumstances develop. Prepare by preserving records, responsibilities and realistic options rather than forecasting a fixed event.
Six of Disks Thoth Tarot Tarot Reading Example
Illustrative question: An imprint launches a profitable first book and wants to expand its advertising budget immediately. What does Success suggest?
Interpretation: The harmonious group of disks signals an achieved stage worth measuring carefully. I would analyze actual royalties, returns and costs, then set a controlled increase tied to repeatable results.
The Moon’s association reminds the reader that a good result can be temporary; prudent reinvestment is more defensible than assuming the next project must perform equally well.
