A new James Webb Space Telescope image shows the galaxy cluster MACS J0454.1-0300 bending and magnifying the light of far more distant galaxies behind it. The effect stretches galaxies into arcs and, in some cases, makes the same galaxy appear several times in different places.
The image was released by ESA/Webb on September 29, 2026.
